Communication by fibre
To communicate by fibre optic cables give fundamental changes both in practical day-to-day operations and more strategic business operations.
The quality of video conferencing, telephone calls and the share of high volumes of data between onshore and offshore, are all practical operations that will become more efficient. But the real prize is challenging and changing the work processes as a consequence of significant more bandwidth available. Also use of new technology such as intelligent well-fields, remote operations centre etc, will be possible when using fibre optic communication technology provided by the NSC network.
The results for the customers are significantly reduced costs, increased production and at last but not least more secure operations in a HSE perspective.
The NSC network has very low latency between the main points of presences (PoPs):
Aberdeen to Stavanger round-trip delay = 8,2ms
London to Stavanger round-trip delay = 12,76ms

Companies located in both Stavanger, London, Aberdeen and Houston will be able to integrate the network as a Local Area Network (LAN)
