The unique NSC network
The NSC network is a modern fibre optic high technology network. The fibre optic cable goes from the NSC POP Forus in Stavanger (Norway) to Kaarstoe. From Kaarstoe the fibre cable goes 1150 km to Lowestoft UK and further to London Telehouse 1 in London. From the Ula platform the NSC network also goes directly to the NSC POP at Dyce in Aberdeen (Scotland).
The capacities provided to the customers are from 2Mbit and up to 10Gbit, all depended on the customers demand. NSC also provides customised solutions with high degree of flexibility due to new and up to date transmission technology.
The NSC network has an almost 100% uptime since the installation in 1999. The system is operated and monitored from the NSC Network Operation Centre in Stavanger on a 24/7/365 basis by highly qualified telecom engineers.
There is a very low latency in the NSC network. From the NSC POP Forus to the NSC POP Aberdeen the one-way latency is only 4,20ms and from NSC POP Forus to the NSC POP London is the one-way latency only 6,38ms.
